- Accumulator
- A bet that combines multiple selections into one, with winnings rolling over from each winning selection.
- American odds
- Odds expressed as a positive or negative number, indicating how much you win on a $100 bet or how much you need to stake.
- Bankroll
- The total amount of money set aside for placing bets.
- Bet slip
- The digital record that lists your selected bets, stake, and potential payout.
- Bonus rollover
- The number of times you must wager a bonus amount before you can withdraw it.
- Cash out
- An option to settle a bet before the event ends, locking in a profit or loss based on the current odds.
- Cover
- When a team beats the point spread, they are said to have covered.
- Decimal odds
- A way to express odds as a single number, where the total payout equals the stake multiplied by the decimal.
- Fractional odds
- Odds expressed as a fraction, showing the profit relative to the stake, such as 5/1 meaning you win five times your stake.
- Free bet

- Futures
- A bet placed on an event that will be decided in the future, such as which team wins the tournament.
- Handicap
